Ideas floating around my brain

Scary, right?

So we really like to do a fun/spooky Halloween dinner...now that I'm not really allowed to Trick-or-Treat anymore, I have to make it fun for me *somehow*, right??? (c:

I like to do things that are a little bit creepy, but not outright disgusting.

Let me give you some examples:

This might taste really good, but *bleech* on the presentation:

This is just wrong (it's a dessert, btw...but the tootsie roll turds gross me out!)

I'm pretty sure I would also like to steer clear of the "Silence of the Lambs" crackers platter (I don't know if that is what it's called, but darn it if it doesn't look like that...)

Some of the things that are definitely in the running for our dinner:
Mud pie...darling

A little more gruesome, but not life-like enough to cause indigestion...

Tentacle pot pie, adorable...

I feel like someone is watching me (sorry, I just couldn't help myself!)

Pizza in all it's lovely forms is always a hit...

I think this is the one I might go with though...a little gruesome, but still good:

Meatloaf with onion fingernails with browned cheese for the texture on top!

Brilliant and easy (c:

Do you do a fun Halloween dinner?

Or am I just freaking you out right now?

Please say that I'm freaking you out because that would totally make my little creepy heart sing (c:

And I know you all are *desperate* to know who won the Halloween giveaway, right???

Um, I'm really grossed out. That kitty litter dessert is burned into my brain, and not in a good way.

haha, I think all these foods are hilarious, mostly because I made a few of them last year :) The kitty litter cake was a big hit!!

I'm in love with the meatball sandwich and pot pies! They are too cute and I'm going to "try" to recreate for Halloween. Key word is try.

I am SO creeped out..the skull on the platter I could not look at a second time..definitely works in terms of scarey stuff but yes, you would want people to eat :)

That skull cracker platter was freaky and the pumpkin soup made me feel a little ill, but the others are so fun. Definitely putting on my list of ideas for Halloween dinner.

Um, yeah...all of those look revolting except the tentacle pot pie and the mud pie. So, job well done.

Some of those are just TOO much -- uh, the one with the tootsie rolls -- gross! But the tentacle pot pies are SUPER cute!

you are absolutely right. there is a fine line between cute and creepy when it comes to halloween eats. you certainly don't want to eat anything that looks too life like!

So, I've been walking around SO happy all day. It always feels so great to win something, and I've been wanting those skeleton hand servers to serve my own spooky Halloween meal! SO EXCITED about winning! Thanks again!

Also, just in case you want one more idea, I made these: http://canarygirl.com/?p=307 last year for a party--huge hit, I actually one the prize for "The Grossest", but it was super yummy, too. And don't try the kitty litter dessert. I made that for April Fool's and we all thought it was disgusting. Not b/c it looked like cat poop either. It just was gross.

SUPER creepy ideas!! LOL! You found some humdingers! Love the worm float!

The kitty litter I just can't do but I had already pinned those tentacle pies as a possible.

This was the best halloween post yet!! Even with the disgusting tootsie roll turds, pukey pumpkin and the crackers platter with that sick looking skeleton! ;)

I'm loving the sub sandwich snake and the meatball sub!
