Style Icon

I don't know about you, but my favorite movie of ALL TIME is "My Fair Lady"...probably in large part because Audrey Hepburn is in it. She is my absolute favorite and her characters are so great. Soooooo....for Halloween, I thought "Why not pretend to be fabulous???" Since I don't have her great race track black and white dress just lying around, I decided this should be my costume:

What do you think??? I have no hopes of being as fabulously stylish and elegant as the late great Audrey, but it might be fun for a night... (c:

Happy Halloween!

If you want to see probably the coolest Halloween party EVER...check this over at Brooklyn Limestone...just one word: AMAZING!

Vacation Anyone?

I'm not going to lie, I would just about *kill* for a vacation...yes, *ANY* vacation...right about now. But this place. WOW. It's called the Banyan Tree Samui and it's in Koh Samui, Thailand. Not only is it just a gorgeous place, but how great is the resort??? I just want to lay on that bed and take a nap...(c: But really, we both know if I was in Thailand, that would be the last thing I would be doing. That beach? Amazing. I'm making my reservations right now. In my dreams.

Giveaway at Alice Lane!

I'm already pretty obsessed with pillows, but how perfect is this cute little pillow??? I love the texture of the fabric, the cute little bird shilloute...and anyone that knows my family, knows that the number 3 is pretty much the best. number. ever. EVER. If you know who Dale Murphy is, you will know what I mean. I'm going to take it as a sign that Alice Lane is giving one away on their blog... (c:

It's Black, It's White

I just love me some black and white...it's such a great contrast and really makes a statement. Hopefully, not the "I live in a circus tent" statement, but more of a chic statement, y'know? It always just makes a room look special...doesn't it just make these rooms pop?

On a side note: how great is that yellow vanity??? (c: Yellow makes me smile.

Mom Cave

If you've never read this blog

Centsational Girl
It is a daily must read for me...she is hosting a blog party today!!

So you've heard of the "Man Cave" but what about the "Mom Cave"??? Why should only the men have a place to escape, relax, and do hobbies in a space specially tailored for them??? I don't know about you, but a space where I could kick back in a comfy chair with a cozy throw and all the essentials for relaxing and reading sounds pretty fabulous (any time for myself minus the midgets is a luxury around here!). It would definitely need a desk, like a credenza, so I could do projects and hide all the before mentioned projects' crapola somewhere. (c: And what about some wonderful pictures of things I love on the wall? Gorgeous art work with some great color to it. Ooooohhhh yeeeeaaah...

And some great girlie colors, especially on some great pillows, you *have* to have pillows...and a couple great conversation pieces for when I actually get to invite *my* friends over! What do you think, what would your "mom cave" look like?

This top one just looks so inviting.....

But how fabulous are the chairs in this second one???

And pink just screams "mom cave--keep out" don't you think? (which is a good thing...) Isn't Home Goods AMAZING?!? They want to give away some $$$ to create your own "Mom Cave"! Such a fabulous idea. I need it. *NOW*. (c:

And here is where I want to put my very own Mom Cave, the cute (and so far SUPER BORING) little corner of our MBR...I've already got the comfy chair that I love...just need ALL THE REST OF IT! (c: *sigh*

I love fall...

Well if cooler temperatures don't just make you want to curl up in front of a good fireplace, I don't know what will! These look so inviting...

But since I don't have the cool fall temperatures ***grrrr***...I will just have to do with outfitting our totally useless fireplace for Halloween (c:

The best part about this mantel, It cost me about $20...FOR ALL OF IT! Dollar tree and some ingenuity baby. Not bad, not bad at all...(c;

Snips, Snails, and Pupppy Dog Tails

I don't know about you, but I always thought that was a very strange rhyme, especially when girls are "sugar and spice, and everything nice"...it always made me glad to be a girl. BUT...these little boy rooms kinda made me re-think...

I love what paint can do for a room...it is such a nice (and relatively inexpensive) way to made a big difference in a room...I mean, the entire wall of different colored squares??? Shut the front door. So cute and creative. And the rustic one with the cowhide rug is such a good idea, more things that would be able to grow with the little man!

found on rate my space, hgtv.com

Admittedly, my son’s room is not *nearly* as put together or “picture-worthy” as these (we went with a hunting/fishing/camping theme) but it is very kid-friendly! It’s definitely a work in progress…aren't those vertical blinds just atrocious? It would looks a lot more put together with some nice curtains and a cute paint job...maybe that is my next project!
