Spooky and a "tutorial"

So this is what I concocted for our Halloween mantel:

Just something fun and easy and *cheap*...the kiddos love it!

My hangman's candelabra (nabbed from Goodwill and the little skeleton garland is from Dollar Store)

My little "spooky" bunting that I made last year...still love it (c:

Everything sitting in this corner is from the Dollar Store...except for the pumpkin...oh and the candle...okay so *not* everything...sheesh.

You can't tell very well from my fabulous photography skills (ha!), but this is some darling DIY art on some sparkly paper.

I {heart} glitter. (c:

And I thought I would try my hand at a tutorial of sorts...

Even though there is really nothing to it!

Isn't that the most brilliant kind???

Halloween Crow DIY Art:

(1) Dollar Store Frame (I splurged for the good stuff)

(1) Dollar store package of crow die-cuts

Sparkly Halloween colored scrapbooking paper

I thought you needed a close up of how fun and sparkly the paper is (c:

Cut the paper to the frame size and glue together (I did it the laziest way possible with glue dots, awesome).

Slap it in the frame and VIOLA!!!

And did I mention it was *SPARKLY*???

And this may or may not have something to do with the GIVEAWAY tomorrow...

Guess you will just have to come back and see, right? (c:

Roomspiration Blog Hop: Kids Rooms!

Roomspiration

Shoot...is today my turn for the blog hop?!?!? Dang it, I *totally* forgot!!!

Hehehe...I'm just joshin' with you all, of course I didn't forget!

I'm pleased as pink punch to be taking part in what has turned out to be *the* bloggy party in the good ol' blogosphere!

Have you gone and checked out the previous parties??? Oh-em-gee. If you like interior design (and I know you do!), then this is a smorgasbord of delish interiors!

And today we are going to be showing off our mini-peeps rooms! Y'know, the wee people...the small humans...the mess makers!

KIDS ROOMS!!!

And I say "we" because there is a linky party going on up in here for you to link up your kids rooms and show them off!!!

And I know you all are excited about the big room reveal, right? RIGHT?!? (c;

Without further ado, I present Ms. Skylar's happy place:

Can you tell we enjoy color at our house???

You know what else we like at our house? A great deal...I mean, who doesn't right?

I am a firm believer that it doesn't have to cost a lot to look great (c:

And can you tell I'm an expert photographer? No? Blast.

Here's the run down...

So I'm not generally a cafe length curtain kind of gal, but those pretty babies were on clearance at Tar-jay for less than 5 buckaroos and the color is just phenominal...and also, I don't know if long curtains would actually even look good with that window...and I'm pretty sure I like them.

This happy and colorful bedding was actually a gift from grandma (thanks, ma!), but rumor has it (don't you just love Adele?) that she picked up the set at Kohls for around $35 buck...for the sheets, sham, comforter, and bed skirt!

Major gonga.
And if you aren't familiar with the word "gonga", you are missing out (c:

This little gallery feature is new to the lil' rugrat's space and I'm pretty pleased at how it came out (can you tell, I'm like patting myself on the back right now...)!

Frames: Large white-Walmart, 2 small white-old frames spray painted white, the "s"-$3 clearance from Hobby Lobby, 2 teal frames-Pottery Barn clearance, less than $10 for both (c: Little ornate frame-Hobby Lobby 50% off

Keep Calm print, I am a Child of God Print and Peacock were won on a blog giveaway from Sugar Fresh, and the flamingo was a free printable from Eastwitching shop

The new and improved Ombre poufs...the other ones didn't survive the move (taps playing in the background)...but I like these even better! They are so quick and easy to make and are so fun and whimsical...make sure you hang them where little hands can't get to them...apparently they also resemble pinatas...

Her cute little bench was a $5 garage sale find and gives some much needed storage for all her crapola treasures. And of course my pillow fettish has to extend to my little baby girl's room...ignore the cheeto marks on the pillows...just focus on the fact that they look darling (c:
(little teal pillow- hobby lobby $5, xoxo- PB teen, no longer available )c:)

What is on the other wall of her room you say???

Glad you asked! (c:

Her $30 goodwill dresser that I just swapped out the pulls for some cute polka dotted ones from Hobby Lobby (when they were 50% off, natch)...the lamp was a garage sale find, $5 for the pair of them (coat of spray paint for the base and grossgrain ribbon for the shade and viola! Cuteness atop the dresser.), and the mirror is also a garage sale find (if you have been following along for a little while, you might remember it being yellow, but along side the lamp, I like the pink *much* better!)

And I think I would like to end with the shot of the pig (c:

Oh okay, one more shot of the whole shebang:

Now it's *your* turn!

Link up your fun kiddie rooms, I can't wait to see what you all have up your sleeves! (c:

Fashion Friday Mish Mash...

 I'm real excited about this:

Particularly if paired with this or this:

You can't tell me that teal skirt isn't just perfectly perfect in every way:
Same goes for the pink capris...the color is bright dahlia...how much do you love that cute name? (c;
And I just about peed my pants over this whole thing, but mostly that gorgeous coat:

I would also accept this one:

That blue is absolutely DELISH.
And this got my undivided attention:

Sublime modern Audrey from your favorite and mine.

And just for good measure, we can all use some Kate

I have absolutely no use for this coat, but it's fabulous, so it can stay (c:
And the BIGGEST NEWS of the day...

That means that I will be revealing the new and improved (and new house) version of my little one's room on Monday!

Teaser Alert:

*STOKED* doesn't even cover it.

I'm giddy like a school girl.

And the bestest part? You all get to link up your kiddos' rooms to the PAR-TAY!!!

This is going to be my first linky party, so I have no idea what I am doing...er, I mean, it will be super fun!

Today the Roomspiration blog hop is over at Involving Color partying it up like it's 1999, only *WAY* better. (c:

Go check it out and link up your own room!

Just dreamin' a bit...

So I desperately *NEED* to switch out my bedding, but I have a *really* hard time finding things I like.

I have this addiction to white bedding.

Why is that a problem you ask?

Let me do a little math for ya.

White bedding + two small humans + one small dog = HUGE headache and heartache for Mommy

*sigh*

So after a LOT of looking, I fell in love with this gorgeousness from Dwell Studio:

So then I did a little fantasy shopping...

And a little fantasy planning...

It looks like this:

Yep.

The only part of this that I *actually* own are the two throw pillows.

Baby steps. (c:

I think I almost have the hubby convinced to take the plunge. *Almost*.

Hope you are planning a fantastic weekend, y'all!

You wanna play a game???

Of course you do! (c:

Can you see what all these pictures have in common???

Sarah Richardson
Kemble Designs

That last one is the best clue...

it's Celerie Kembles Hothouse flowers in spark...

Just like my new pillow for my chair!

Remember *waaaaaaaay* back when I showed you this chair and was debating what to do with it??

Doesn't she look so lovely with her new pillow? I think she is smiling.

I know I am!

Thanks again to Mackenzie for the hook up!!!

Silverware: oh c'mon people, it's a mock up! (c:
Centerpiece with Dollar tree flowers: double check

...class all the way, baby. If you hurry to Wally World, you can have your very own Easter egg paper plates!

I know...you are running out the door (c:

Happy Easter to all!

Don't get all crazy on me, deal???

So I might have mentioned something about my kiddos' bathroom a while back and then may or may not have totally chickened out on showing y'all pictures.
Yep. Chicken.

But then I decided to put on my big girl panties and suck it up. I mean, hey, what's the worst thing that can happen? Besides you all being subjected to my dismal photography skills *AGAIN*.

But this is my super-duper budget make over for the bathroom, for a grand total of 50 buckaroos...for *all* of it.

Shower curtain: $5 at walmart (I know, it's spendy)
Whale decal: Free ninety-nine 'cause I won it, yay me
White towels: $3 a piece (also walmart, you would think since I have a discount here I would just get some nice ones, but no)
Polka Dot handtowels: $4/each from "the Barn"
Blue-Green Frame: $3.97 from the barn as well, clearance bin, baby!
The monogram inside: This might suprise you, but I drew it. Oh it didn't surprise you? I will hope that is a complement and not...the other thing.
Rug: $10 from Home Goods
Silver Box: $12 from PB, it was my splurge (c:
Polka dot bowl: Target dollar ailse, but actually cost me $2.50...what a rip off! (c:
Flowers: One bunch from the Dollar Tree. A whole dollar!

You made it all the way to the end of this post?!? Congrats, you are crazy...but hey, you're in good company (c:

I'm kinda in love with the polka dots.

And once again, sorry about the pictures...and the no natural light in that bathroom...hey, waddaya want??? It's a rental.

A Love/Hate Relationship

So check out what came to live with me this weekend...

I mean honestly, for 25 bucks, how could I say no???

I'm kinda stuck on what to do with her. That's right, it's a she. Duh.

I'm actually strangely attracted to the "burnt" orange velvet...it's in great condition and I'm kind of into the citrus colors lately. All it would take is a fab lumbar pillow to complete her fabulousness...

On the other hand, how freakin' cool would she be in a great gray color in the front with a rad patterned fabric on the back and outside arms??? I know, amazeballs.

What would you do??? Love it, Hate it?

***Let's remember to take into consideration the fact that I will be undertaking this re-upholstering project myself and that as of yet, I have not done a sewing project on my own. It may or may not be a terrific *DISASTER*. Kind of exciting, isn't it??? (c:***

And any excuse to post some more fabulous tufting...(c:

Happy Monday!

EEEEEEE!!!!

That was an excited noise, by the way.

Yesterday couldn't have been better because my new pillow *FINALLY* got here!

Cheveron, Coral, and Peacock...yes, it is a little nuts...but I'm LOVIN' it!
(I was too excited to take a good picture with my camera and upload it...sorry about the phone pic)

So what do you think? Completely cukoo or crazy cool?

Keep it constructive, people, I don't want to have to track you down (c:
