Weekend Happenings

Before I go into anything else, I just want to say that our thoughts and prayers are with everyone being affected by Storm Sandy.  I hope everyone is safe and sound...

It's always fun to be around little ones during holidays because everything is so footloose and fancy free (c:

My little ninja and peacock princess (c:

My magpie costume (don't worry, nobody knew what I was...) and the birthday girl...yup, that's right, four year-old in the *HOUSE*!

We had a very good birthday weekend getting spoiled rotten.

Now mama is ready for a break...oh wait, Halloween isn't actually until Wednesday.
Phooey.

Well, it's a darn good thing I really love this holiday or I might be tempted to pretend it's already over. But since I have a kid in school now, that wouldn't fly either.
Double phooey.

By the way, don't you just love the word "phooey"???

And if the word phooey doesn't cheer you up on a Monday, I'm pretty sure J Crew will:

I need one of um, *everything* in this picture...hey, Christmas is right around the corner, right???

Something is coming...

You'll never guess.

Okay, I can't keep it a secret...it's Halloween!!!

I know, right??? Total shocker. (c:

But I've been giving some serious thought to this, people. I'm doin' it up right.

Will I really do all of this??? Who knows...but how much fun is this?!? (c:

Don't even get me started on the treats...

I know you all are just brimming with ideas and creativity...so share what you're concocting for your ghoulish bash!

One set of skeleton hand servers (seriously, can you have a Halloween meal without them?)

Your very own Halloween crow DIY art that I made all by my lonesome (hey it saves you the trouble of tracking it all down, right?)

And last but not least, I have to give you the best darn Halloween candy *ever*: CANDY CORN (the kind with the little pumpkins, 'cause it's the best!)

FUN, RIGHT?

This is just my small way of saying thanks for putting up with my shenanigans!

Leave a comment. About whatever (c:

Spooky and a "tutorial"

So this is what I concocted for our Halloween mantel:

Just something fun and easy and *cheap*...the kiddos love it!

My hangman's candelabra (nabbed from Goodwill and the little skeleton garland is from Dollar Store)

My little "spooky" bunting that I made last year...still love it (c:

Everything sitting in this corner is from the Dollar Store...except for the pumpkin...oh and the candle...okay so *not* everything...sheesh.

You can't tell very well from my fabulous photography skills (ha!), but this is some darling DIY art on some sparkly paper.

I {heart} glitter. (c:

And I thought I would try my hand at a tutorial of sorts...

Even though there is really nothing to it!

Isn't that the most brilliant kind???

Halloween Crow DIY Art:

(1) Dollar Store Frame (I splurged for the good stuff)

(1) Dollar store package of crow die-cuts

Sparkly Halloween colored scrapbooking paper

I thought you needed a close up of how fun and sparkly the paper is (c:

Cut the paper to the frame size and glue together (I did it the laziest way possible with glue dots, awesome).

Slap it in the frame and VIOLA!!!

And did I mention it was *SPARKLY*???

And this may or may not have something to do with the GIVEAWAY tomorrow...

Guess you will just have to come back and see, right? (c:

I'm feeling it...

...and it *FINALLY* (almost, kinda, not really) feels like fall!!!

We got all the way into the 70's this week, WAHOO!!!

Can I get a *woot woot* for being able to wear layers?!?

And that just means we are that much closer to my favorite holiday:

HALLOWEEN!!!

Oh c'mon, you know you love it, too!

I mean, what's not to like: there isn't the pressure of gifts, company, and fancy meals like Christmas...*AND* you get to dress up *however* you want and get a bunch of candy!

Totally rad. And no, I'm not 9...and it's none of your business how old I am! (c:

And no, I'm not going skanky with my costume, geez.

But I was thinking that some fabulous Halloween inspiration is definitely in order!

Happy Haunting!!!

Glam pumpkin, lovin' it!

This is DIY Halloween plates from Everything Fabulous :
Halloween silhouettes??? Why didn't I think of that???

Dig this every time I see it (c:

And two ideas that I'm going to *HAVE* to steal (c:

Mummy lights from Hi Sugarplum!

And feathered chargers from Courtney Out Loud:

Any fantabulous ideas for your Halloween???

And just remember, a super fabulous idea is to enter the I Am Project Giveaway!! It ends tonight!!!

I love fall...

Well if cooler temperatures don't just make you want to curl up in front of a good fireplace, I don't know what will! These look so inviting...

But since I don't have the cool fall temperatures ***grrrr***...I will just have to do with outfitting our totally useless fireplace for Halloween (c:

The best part about this mantel, It cost me about $20...FOR ALL OF IT! Dollar tree and some ingenuity baby. Not bad, not bad at all...(c;
