Wednesday with Wendy

I have got the biggest girl crush.

Ohmygosh, she is absolutely adorable and has killer fashion sense...

Miss Wendy of Wendy's Lookbook!

I've been focusing on the interior aspect of blogging for so long, I've been completely missing out on the FASHION!!!

And I have to give a shout out to Tanya from Dans le Townhouse for turning me on to her and for sharing this highly addictive video (no I'm serious, unless you want to watch this about 10x in a row, don't watch...but do because it's awesome and she is just so darn cute!)

Are you crushing as much as I am???

And did I mention that not only is she incredibly stylish, but also an incredible person with an amazing story??? She grew up in foster care, worked 3 jobs in high school to go to college, and still volunteers like crazy with underprivileged  youth. Wow. I need to go give my kids a hug because I feel like a slacker! (c:

You should check out Wendy's Lookbook...you'll be hooked, too.

Ideas floating around my brain

Scary, right?

So we really like to do a fun/spooky Halloween dinner...now that I'm not really allowed to Trick-or-Treat anymore, I have to make it fun for me *somehow*, right??? (c:

I like to do things that are a little bit creepy, but not outright disgusting.

Let me give you some examples:

This might taste really good, but *bleech* on the presentation:

This is just wrong (it's a dessert, btw...but the tootsie roll turds gross me out!)

I'm pretty sure I would also like to steer clear of the "Silence of the Lambs" crackers platter (I don't know if that is what it's called, but darn it if it doesn't look like that...)

Some of the things that are definitely in the running for our dinner:
Mud pie...darling

A little more gruesome, but not life-like enough to cause indigestion...

Tentacle pot pie, adorable...

I feel like someone is watching me (sorry, I just couldn't help myself!)

Pizza in all it's lovely forms is always a hit...

I think this is the one I might go with though...a little gruesome, but still good:

Meatloaf with onion fingernails with browned cheese for the texture on top!

Brilliant and easy (c:

Do you do a fun Halloween dinner?

Or am I just freaking you out right now?

Please say that I'm freaking you out because that would totally make my little creepy heart sing (c:

And I know you all are *desperate* to know who won the Halloween giveaway, right???

#14, Miss Cheryl from Abiding Joy!!!

Congrats! Email me your info quick so you can enjoy your stuff *before* Halloween actually gets here! ha!

Your very own Halloween crow DIY art that I made all by my lonesome (hey it saves you the trouble of tracking it all down, right?)

And last but not least, I have to give you the best darn Halloween candy *ever*: CANDY CORN (the kind with the little pumpkins, 'cause it's the best!)

FUN, RIGHT?

This is just my small way of saying thanks for putting up with my shenanigans!

Spooky and a "tutorial"

So this is what I concocted for our Halloween mantel:

Just something fun and easy and *cheap*...the kiddos love it!

My hangman's candelabra (nabbed from Goodwill and the little skeleton garland is from Dollar Store)

My little "spooky" bunting that I made last year...still love it (c:

Everything sitting in this corner is from the Dollar Store...except for the pumpkin...oh and the candle...okay so *not* everything...sheesh.

You can't tell very well from my fabulous photography skills (ha!), but this is some darling DIY art on some sparkly paper.

I {heart} glitter. (c:

And I thought I would try my hand at a tutorial of sorts...

Even though there is really nothing to it!

Isn't that the most brilliant kind???

Halloween Crow DIY Art:

(1) Dollar Store Frame (I splurged for the good stuff)

(1) Dollar store package of crow die-cuts

Sparkly Halloween colored scrapbooking paper

I thought you needed a close up of how fun and sparkly the paper is (c:

Cut the paper to the frame size and glue together (I did it the laziest way possible with glue dots, awesome).

Slap it in the frame and VIOLA!!!

And did I mention it was *SPARKLY*???

And this may or may not have something to do with the GIVEAWAY tomorrow...

Guess you will just have to come back and see, right? (c:

The beginning of a beautiful friendship

Have you ever wondered where Kate Spade gets all their fabulous ideas from?

Seriously, that doesn't keep you up at night? Hmm. Then the hubby might be right about my little "problem". (c:
I definitely am not quiet about my Kate obsession, but I'm pretty sure I've just added to that mania by getting to know Deborah a little better this weekend.

Yep, we're besties now. Me and Deb.

Oh, you don't know Deborah Lloyd, the creative director of Kate Spade?

I'll have to introduce you. She's fab.

And see how much fun she is??? Wellies and a gown...what a jokester! (c:

And her fabulous place, *le sigh*.

I'm not sure if she knows that we are besties yet, but any woman that can decorate her place with fab heels in the dining room and dresses on the mantel is alright by me!!! (c:

Do you think since we're so close that she can get me some Kate swag???

That would be the *SHIZ*. (c;

And I think I would also like to use a fake British accent and call her dah-ling...I dunno, it just feels *right*.
This is almost like introducing my hubby to my parents for the first time...

Bloggy friends...meet Deb, my new bestie.

New bestie...bloggy friends!

This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
