We Will Never Forget

I still remember exactly where I was when I got the phone call. I remember standing in front of the TV in disbelief and crying my eyes out for people that I had never met. I remember the sadness that someone could be so evil to coordinate such an awful and devastating event.

I remember the stories of selfless people courageous giving their lives for their neighbors. I remember the acts of heroism by people just doing their jobs. I remember our nation pulling together. I remember EVERYONE praying for and helping NYC. I remember being so proud to be an American.

I remember because I can't forget.

Don't ever forget.

Beautifully put. My best friend got married today, 2 years ago. Although I will never forget, it's lovely to have a happy memory associated with the same day to remind me that there is always growth and renewal following a tragedy.

I remember exactly where I was too. Could not believe something as terrible as that could happen. The whole world felt for you and with you...

I remember exactly where I was too. we will never forget. how do you tell your kids about it though, when they weren't alive when it happened. I was thinking about that with my sister. xo

Really beautiful! Thanks Aubrey - always in good taste. I can remember where I was too. I got up turned on the TV and saw on ABC clouds of smoke going by the Statue of Liberty. Peter Jennings was talking in the background about the second tower falling. I thought, "Hmmm, I didn't know Peter Jennings decided to guest in a made for TV movie." And then I turned the TV off. It still seems so unbelievable.

I will never ever forget either. I was here in NYC. Had just walked into work right after the first plane hit and people were already gathered around the tv in the conference room. I watched it all unfold and then walked like a zombie back home to my apartment downtown which was filled with the stench that lasted for weeks. I used to have a view of the towers and then they were gone. But now I have a beautiful view of the Freedom Tower. Such a symbol of strength and hope.

Beautiful post, love <3 xoxo
