I found all these gems that have me thinking I need to hide all my credit cards from myself:

ASOS

Do you know how long I have serched for an affordable sequined pencil skirt??? Since I was like two. Maybe three.

For with that gorgeous sequined pencil skirt....I have just been crushing on peter pan collars lately (c:

And no, they are most definitely not paying me for this...but if they want to, they can send me that hot red number. The husband would also be very grateful. (c;

And the Surprise: Design Manifest!!!

Photobucket

So I know y'all were *DYING* to know what the surprise was, right???

RIGHT?!?!

Well, whether you were waiting on pins and needles or not, you are in for a treat! Naomi from Design Manifest is truly one of the most talented and creative gals around when it comes to making a space spectacular...and her own personal loft is no exception! She just had it feature on Design Sponge (how RAD is that?!?), she is our very own celeb! So does that make me like Ryan Seacrest or something??? I guess I don't really want to be Ryan...unless I get his paycheck (c:

I am a huge fan of Naomi and her crazy talent and witty sense of humor...she is just an all around great gal! She was even sweet enough to give us some of her best tips on making your own home a place that screams *you*!

Tips to create a well-edited Maximalist Space.
(Aubrey: Yeah, screw minimalism, bring it on!!!)

1.  Pick a few themes and stick to them.  My place may seem like a bunch a randomness that magically works together, but I actually followed a formula.  I chose two main colors (pink and blue) and layered on the following elements: rustic/woody, bamboo, black, gold, a little bit on animal print.

2.  When working with bold pattern or color choose one or two statement pieces per wall/area and keep the rest neutral or one of your key elements.  For instance- my focal patterns in my living room were my wallpaper and my pillows.  Everything else is neutral, black, gold or woody!

3.  When planning a vignette, remember that things look best in threes.

4.  Pay attention to scale and balance.  I'm always worried about things being "visually heavy."  I added the shelf of pretties above my television to balance out all that black below.  Also, make sure you have a mixture of high (tall) and low elements.

5.  Don't be afraid to mix patterns!  Just make sure the scale of each is different.  Pick up some swatches and live with them for awhile.  I like my patterns to coordinate but not necessarily match.  It feels more effortless, but believe me, it requires A LOT of effort.

I'm busy running around my house like a mad woman gathering as much pattern as I possibly can...but I'm pretty sure no matter how hard I try, the fabulousness of Naomi's loft just isn't there!

That girl has got mad GAME.

And since I know you are *DYING* to see more pics of these fab spaces...you should really head on over and say hi at Design Manifest and join in worshipping her gorgeous pad!

It turned out absolutely perfect, Naomi, all your hard work and projects have paid off in a *BIG* way!

And for those of you that are looking for something fabulous for Christmas, look no further and WIN IT HERE!

Guest Post: The Fabulous Design File!!!

Photobucket

There are so many unique and fabulous things in Carrissa's design file...no wonder her blog is named The Fabulous Design File! Just wait until you see all the fantastic touches she has put on her lovely home! I just love how she is able to think outside the box...like making gorgeous Missoni curtains out of a duvet! (c:

See?

Fabulous.

I’m so excited that Aubrey invited me over today!  All Things Bright and Beautiful is one of my favourite blogs and ‘how to make your home your own’ is one of my favourite topics.  Here are three of the things I’ve done to make my home my own:

#1:  Make stuff.

DIY isn’t everyone’s idea of a good time… but I love it!  It’s such a fun way to have original pieces in your home.  I painted this chevron rug about a year and a half ago, and it’s still my fave:

More recently, I sewed white slipcovers for my sofas and turned my Missoni for Target duvet into drapes for my living room:

#2: Turn a family photo into art.

I love the photo of my kids above the fireplace.  I had it printed at a local print shop for only $60!

#3: Include some old things:

This old piano bench got a cute update with some leopard fabric.

… and I love how the old lamp and dresser look against the shiny geometric wallpaper in my dining room:

I could go on and on about how to make your home your own.  I think it is really the whole point of decorating.  It’s so rewarding to have a unique home that really reflects who you are.

Thanks so much for inviting me over to your blog today Aubrey!

I have major print envy going on here...between that darling leopard print bench, missoni drapes, and that *FABULOUS* wallpaper...I'm all about it and more!!! Thanks so much Carrisa for letting us peep in today...but the fun kind of peep, not the creepy kind (c:

Up tomorrow: The surprise (c:

Guest Post: Hanging with the Hewitts!!!

Photobucket

There were so many amazing rooms that were part of the Roomspiration series...and Caycee from Hanging with the Hewitts had one of my very favorites! I couldn't *wait* to see more of her lovely home and obviously, she didn't disappoint! I'm happy to present the lovely Caycee for today's installment of "How to make your home your own"!

I am still blushing that my little home is being featured on the ever so lovely All Things Bright and Beautiful! Thanks for having me Miss Aubrey I am so excited to be here!

Our home was custom built, but unfortunately not for us. So when we came in and bought the home all had been done.(They were actually two days away from being finished). With out making large changes and breaking the bank I decided a little paint and a few personal touches and we would make this house OUR home!

Come on in!

I will start with the room we are in the most, our upstairs "living room"
I know this is a lot of white with a 3year old but no worries that couch is a slipcover :)

This is the bathroom that is shared by the guest bedroom and our soon to be baby girls nursery! Can you tell I love some white! I promise there is color to come!

This guest room would probably have to be my favorite room in our house! It was a labor of love, but so worth it! All of the furniture was mine as a child that the hubs and I sanded and repainted!

While were talking bed rooms here is our little monkeys "big boy room"
I knew I wanted twin beds and big monograms with still being boyish..... mission accomplished!

You may be wondering where all my child's toys are? His playroom/ loft right off his room! Best decision we ever made, I am a sucker for a bedroom with no toys just a place to sleep and relax. So here is where all the art crafting, truck racing, and movie watching goes on.

Moving on downstairs, whew I hope I am not boring you guys yet!

My favorite in this room would have to be my cowhide rug!(and the sweet pictures of my baby of course).

The place the husband and I unwind......

Dinner is served.
I love a few things in this room the antique mahogany table we scored on craigslist, my first abstract painting, and the modern chandelier.

Last but not least a place to do the laundry! If you hate doing laundry as much as I do I know you will appreciate the chandy and the rug, it makes folding a little more bearable!

Bless your sweet hearts if you made it this far. Thanks again Aubrey for having me over to share our home! xoxo Caycee

I just think that she is just so adorable and I love everything about her home...in fact, I'm pretty sure I would move in to that guest room tomorrow if she asked me...so Caycee, how 'bout it?!? (c:
And her darling little boys' room is so perfect, so much to love and so little time! Thanks Caycee for stopping by...and don't forget to go meet her! You'll be happy you did (c:
Up tomorrow:

*AND*
