See Jane run. See Jane design. See Jane be FABULOUS.
Sorry Jane, I just couldn't help myself! She really is completely fabulous...and don't let her modesty fool you, she has one gorgeous home! We are just seeing a teensy part of it today, so definitely go check out the rest of her fabulous skills!
Hi! I'm Modern Jane. I was flattered that Aubrey invited me here to day to what I feel makes my house a home.
A home that feels yours is filled with things you love and reflect your style. For me, what makes my own house a home are the projects and pieces that were completed by myself or people in my life who lent a hand. My home wouldn't be where it is today without all the help I've received and I am so grateful!
The kitchen built by my brother Marc.
Curtains sewn and wallpaper hung by my aunt Marilyn.
Plaster work and lots of manual labour by my dad both inside and outside.
dad saved the day on this one! |
The new windows, wallpaper, and lots of other manual labour by Steph.
Some pieces I've transformed.
I certainly did lots of work too, but when you can walk through your home and realize that so many people had a hand at making it what it is today, you appreciate it so much more. This isn't the entire list! My sisters and mom weren't afraid to get their hands dirty either!
Thanks so much for having me Aubrey!
Thank you so much for sharing, Miss Jane! What a great way to round out a fantastic week, no?

ReplyDeleteAubrey - I'm heading over to your guest post right now, but I wanted to thank you for the compliment on the lamp in my blog post. I inherited that from my grandmother, so it has a lot of sentimental meaning. She received it from a relative of hers many years ago. It was an oil lamp and she transformed it into an electrical lamp. I think it's quite beautiful as well. :)
