This is definitely not the first time I have gushed about Irene on the pages of All Things Bright and Beautiful...this girl has such an amazing and bold style and I just love every second of it! I think she actually liked that I scheduled this on Cinco de Mayo...it fits, because there is never a dull moment with this one! (c;
Hi all readers Bright and Beautiful! Aubrey is way sweet to have asked me to participate in this fun feature. Love her blog and love that she totally gets me.
This whole making our home our own has been quite the process. We've completely remodeled two bathrooms, laundry room and replaced our kitchen floors (it never ends), but I think it's the bits of personality that have made our home feel more us.
One of the very first things we did when we moved into our house was paint our front door turquoise. I think this was done even before we were finished unpacking. I feel this expresses to our guests that we don't take ourseleves too seriously and, well, aren't afraid of color. You can totally see me in the reflection. Whoops. Oh, and my little flamingo is pretty fun too.
All the credit on this one goes to The Husband. I kill plants and here he is with a burgeoning garden. Here you got yourself some basil. The day we did a walk through of our house, he was like, This space will be perfect for a garden. I had held hands with him dozens of times and never did I notice a green thumb. Thanks to him we have our own mini farmers' market.
Color, pattern, vintage finds. Our home would feel blah without said elements.
All the light fixtures were so generic and one by one I've been switching them out. This one from our laundry room is my current favorite.
And I can't leave here without mentioning my dogs. Our home would not feel complete without them. We got Bams (over on the right) four months after we moved in and he made coming home that much more exciting. He needed a friend, so that's when we got Nora. Here they are waiting for us to come in. For now, these are my babies.
Holy cuteness, fabulousness, and creativeness...
I *die*.
'Nuff said.
