Y'all know I'm not afraid of color...but I must say as I was walking through my house, I was noticing that my actual furniture pieces aren't colorful...AT ALL.
It was actually a little distressing for me...so much that I started looking as sofas (stop hyperventilating, hubster, I said *looking*).
Now tell me what comes to mind with these words:
ORANGE SOFA
If we're talking word association, when I hear "orange sofa" I first think Nickelodeon...and then directly after my brain says "CRAZY".
But hear me out! I'm not talking traffic cone orange or penitentiary orange...it's actually kind of awesome.
Okay *QUICK*, say the first thing that comes to mind!
Okay, not *that*, that's just dirty (c:
ooohhh i am loving these - so bright and fun! definitely statement pieces!
ReplyDeleteI think of orange soda. I like the last image but I don't think I could live with an orange sofa everyday - a red one maybe but not orange. ;)
ReplyDeleteLiving life in Technicolour. I Love orange. Such a happy, positive colour!
ReplyDeleteVelvet...because as long as it was velvet, I'd love it:) How about rust velvet as a compromise?

ReplyDeleteI found your blog by accident when I was reading my badughters blog.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago I found an orange vintage pleather chair at a consignment shop. I have decorated my office in maps, the kind from my school days. The orange made the colors on the map guides pop. I get so many compliments on my chair, I smile and say thank you. The best part is the chair only cost me $40.
I love the first one. It would def take a certain home to pull it off. Would be really cheerful though! xx
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine one outside? I'm thinking gazebo and orange sofa.
ReplyDeletei'm in love with these spaces. such an eye for design!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was bold enough to have one. Love the way they are styled! Kelli
ReplyDeleteThe first thing that comes to mind is that orange is A happy color!!! Oh and then nickelodeon! Love all of these couches!!! Xoxo Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteYummy!!!! The organe is making me thirsty! :) I love these colors.... that turquoise and orange up top is beattttiful! Isn't it? I love that wallcovering too.... COME TO MAMA!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteNone of my furiture is colorful either. I think I'm too scared to spend a lot of money on something I may not like in a year. That's why all of the color comes from less expensive items like accessories and, my favorite, pillows. Right now, if I was brave enough, I would buy a pink sofa. I keep seeing amazing rooms featuring pink furniture and I love it.
ReplyDeleteI would never expect orange sofas to be so current and stylish! I'm a new follower, hope you stop by my blog:)

At first I wasn't so sure of this idea, but once I saw the room with the gray chairs and black and white rug I was sold!
ReplyDeleteI remember when I decorated our first apartment, TH said, I thought there would be more color. Oh, you want color. Well he got color alright. I think every color in the rainbow is in our house.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of the orange sofas. I am regretting wimping out and buying a gray one.
ReplyDeleteDo it! Go for it, my friend!
ReplyDeleteI've had a yellow sofa for 10 years, and now that it's worn out, I'm actually afraid to get a neutral sofa. :-) What if our living room is boring? What if it's not happy?
Moral of the story is don't design around fear; design around LOVE! XO
a big fat YES to orange sofa...especially against that gorgeous dark blue-ey wall...
ReplyDeleteWe had a settee in our kitchen that was cream, but with a orange pattern on it. Sadly, it's in storage now, but looking through your awesome pics reminded me how much I love it!
ReplyDeleteVERY late in the game, but I think my point is valid: I talked my now ex-husband into getting a persimmon orange tweed mid-century style couch. We painted our walls a crisp gray with trim in white, window mullions in black. Ivory curtains, mixed media rug and all different textures of ivory pillows, throws, etc, dark wood. Everyone thought we were crazy...until they saw it in person. It felt like we lived in a magazine. The longer we had it the more we both loved it. People gravitated to it, and unintentionally curled up into it - and it wasn't even that kind of couch! The marriage is long over (he got custody of the furniture), and I don't miss him at all (don't worry, he doesn't miss me either) - but I miss our baby, that persimmon tweed couch. Take the chance, you can live through furniture pretty easily. I'm sure everyone has a table they hate. Some things are beyond our range of perspective; furniture is not.
ReplyDeleteHa! Fabulous is the word that best describes those orange sofas! They definitely bring a 'pop' to a room. Thank you for sharing your ideas.
