Matchy Patchy...*meh*

I usually am an organizational freak.

I am one of those people that likes to purge all the crapola out of their house super frequently.

Sometimes I even have trouble with stepping out on a limb with mixing patterns and colors.

*GASP*

There I said it.

That is why am am confused/befuddled/pleasantly surprised by my affinity to the mismatched chairs look.
I LOVE IT!

I can't get enough of it and it makes me want to scour every thrift store within a fifty mile radius to find the perfect blend of quirky beautiful chairs to go around my dining table.

And I think my whole love of mismatched chairs started with these...I completely adore the idea of taking completely different chairs and making them a set with paint and fabric.

Somebody catch me, I'm getting weak in the knees...(c:

And don't forget the Shabby Apple Dress Giveaway!!

  1. My fav were the chairs of the same color and fabric-- but different designs. I think my OCD could handle that :-)

  3. I love the mismatched chair look - especially when paired with the matching fabric. So cute! I think the hubs would kill me if I got rid of all of the Pottery Barn chairs I HAD to have years ago in favor of some thrift store finds.

  8. Hahah I'm the same way... color coded closet and all other ocd tendencies. Although, the only reason I purge is because of the lack of space in our apartment. Our dining room table and chairs are in need of a new coat of paint so maybe a way to bring in the mis-matching.

  12. So I love the different chairs in the same color and pattern fabric but I can't get my straight lined, symmetry loving self to do the different chair thing. I am so not cool enough for that.

    {and your blog - found it thru bijou & boheme}
    My fave look is when completely different styles of chairs have been painted and upholstered to match - mismatched but still stylish.

  29. I am the same way -- I usually love symmetry, but like the look of mixed chairs. I am especially loving that last image -- maybe it's the dog, but I'm thinking it's the same paint and fabric that's doing it for me.

  32. I love mismatched chairs too. And I've also found that if you happen to go to a restaurant that has mismatched chairs your food is going to be good. I think it's a mismatched chair law or something. :)
