So while I am busy sharing the Emily love...I just discovered another Emily that I love via the Emily that I mentioned yesterday.
Still following? Good, 'cause I'm lost.
Emily Chalmers.
She is kind of "crazy cat lady-my cool grandma-awesome thrifted vintage-awesomeness".
Lost again, right? *sigh*
Let's just take a look, shall we?
Loved your post yesterday & clicked over to her site and read her crazy cat lady post! Too funny. I love this style - feels very bohemian & personal.
ReplyDeletei love this look, too, but i think all the "stuff" everywhere would eventually drive me batty! but i love it blended with a more clean look- the patterns and boho appeal are awesome!
ReplyDeleteLove how eclectic these rooms are! Very fun!
ReplyDeleteIf "Crazy Cat Lady Chic" comes with that red coat, I'm sold!
ReplyDeleteAubrey, you find the best stuff! I love this look, but I could certainly not with this. Because my children move things. And all these lovely quirky objects, multitudes of them would end up in a large pile. Objects tend to equal clutter at my house. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteI really love the philosophy too!

That first pic makes me feel kind of nervous - way too much stuff for my liking. I kind of want to pick it all up and put it away!
ReplyDeleteHA! This post's title cracks me up :D I think it's way cool to look at, I just don't think I could live with that much stuff around me. Ok, now I say that, but my house is currently trashed :( Can I call it Crazy Lady Needs To Clean Chic? Nope? Doesn't work does it :(
ReplyDeleteloving the bright colors.

The Perfect Palette
I love the closet area!!! And that bathroom.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty much in love with all of the pattern on neutral, light backgrounds. Cluttered walls don't bother me a bit--I think it looks great and collected. Pretty, happy, eclectic...love it!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Such a mix of totally interesting objects that just work together so well.
ReplyDeleteEclectic to say the least! Love it and I totally subscribe to her design philosophy. I'm not real big on rooms that look like they could be in a Pottery Barn catalog. (Pottery Barn as part of the mix is cool but you gotta know when to say when).
ReplyDeletei am in love with that long wooden table!
ReplyDeleteI love certain elements of these rooms, but all together it makes me kind of nervous!
ReplyDeleteStacy
I like that philosophy!
ReplyDeletegreat style... love the use of color on all these images!
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, I completely dig this look. It is just so damn cheerful!
ReplyDeleteLovin' all the pretty fabrics! A sewer's dream!
ReplyDeleteVery cute - those rooms remind of of an Anthropologie store. I think the clutter would get to me after a while, though. I like all my stuff neatly sorted, though I love how attainable the look feels.
ReplyDeletefirst off...cat's gag me ;). now that that's out of the way, I love her style! very cool and colorful!

What a fun style. And it must be something with the name. Emily's = cool! :)
ReplyDeleteWork with what you got is pretty much my m-o too. I hate making people think they have to spend a ton to have a decent looking space. Sure it'd be great to have huge budgets, but in most cases, that's just not realistic. Amazing how different a space can look when you move things around.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking I have a daughter (or maybe several) who would love that long row of shoes...

I adore the first shot. The piano forte appeals to me. Wish I could play it now;-)

I like her philosophy: to work with what you've got. Doesn't it challenge you to be more creative? Just like better owning a few high quality, timeless items you can dress up and down than loads of poor quality things. xo

These are all lovely! Can't wait to see how the Roomspiration party goes on your scheduled date :)
ReplyDeleteI have been toying around with making one of those knitted block blankets like the one she has on her bed. I'm just afraid, I will be so unbelievably out of my league!
