Hi, my name is Aubrey. I'm a Shoeaholic.
I have a GINORMOUS slight shoe addiction.
And since it's my birthday week, I get to talk about whatever I want and I chose SHOES (but just for today, I'm definitely going to jump around...a lot.)
But I've been thinking, when it comes to shoes, I tend to always go for the same kind of thing...probably my favorite shoe silhouete is a peep toe sling back. They are so gosh darn SEXY!
But lately I've been feeling like I should be a little more adventurous (but still in the realm of I actually would *wear* them)...
These are some of the shoe styles I was thinking I should add to the collection:
Some adorable wrap-tie sandals (these ones are particularly sweet with the lil' bit o' pink)
I've been lovin' the look of the oxford/tie heels...they would be especially good for the whole "sexy secretary" look (that is for all you Clinton and Stacy lovers out there, woot woot!)
I am especially smitten with these little beauties:
I'm pretty tame with my flats collection and I was thinking some with a fun pattern could be cool for the summer...
I need some more casual wedges, preferrably with a fun pop of color:
And this is one that I am still on the fence about...well, not even so much as on the fence as I'm still staring at the fence wondering if I even want to start *really* considering it...
Toms.
Everyone seems to be jumping on this bandwagon and I just can't get over how they look like bandages for your feet. I keep thinking about them because I hear that those bad boys are UBER comfy...but I think they might be a little bit like crocs for me...never could get over the asthetic of them...
If I did ever pull the trigger, it would have to be the glitter ones...at least then they would be shiny bandages...
What about y'all? Do you do the Toms thing? Or would you dare? Or anything else for that matter that you tried and LOVED???
I'm open to suggestions (c:
I love those Aldo wedges- sooooo flippin cute! Happy soon-to-be Birthday!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Shoes are so much fun! Happy early birthday
ReplyDeleteGreat selection of shoes! I love, love shoes as well! Those Seychelles are too cute!
ReplyDeleteI hope you get all your birthday wishes! My name is Amanda and I am a shoeaholic to.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the Toms! I thought the same thing you do until I wore some and then I was hooked. Great when you have to do a lot of walking and heels just won't cut it :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday week! I have Toms and I love them. Mine are yellow and I wear them all the time. Maybe too much. The wedges they make are sooo cute too. Jump on the bandwagon my friend!
ReplyDeleteThe Aldo wedges and Anne Taylor Oxfords are gorgeous. I would happily add them to my wardrobe. I love wearing flats, but the Toms aren't exactly my style. Hope you have a great week! :) Ada
ReplyDeleteLOL, you're right...Tom's totally look like foot bandages. Mummy foot? I LOVE the pink striped flats.
ReplyDeleteShoes are my favourite acquisition beyond even bags and furniture. And that is saying something. I have a penchant for patent, although it is highly impractical at times. I say pass on the foot bandages, you can do much better! Although metallic + shoes generally equates to something lovely.
ReplyDeleteI am searching for a couple pairs of espadrille wedges for the summer. Love the pop of yellow in the ones you posted. Patterned flats, you've inspired me. Sexy secretary, yes! I have a pair of Nicholas Kirkwood lace up oxford stilettos and they are brilliant. Great post!
I had some espadrilles a few yrs back like those Seychelle one's in black, and I donated them, why?! They are sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteAlso, love those oxford shoes, and I don't think I could get in to Toms myself...
Those wedges are so pretty but I also adore those Nine West shoes. Am not into the Toms thingy, though;-)
ReplyDeleteHere's to shopping for one's birthday;-)
I'm a shoeaholic myself and you're totally making me drool here :)
ReplyDeleteHappy bday week, lovely! Hope you get all of these pretties and more! xoxo
I love shoes too...these are all so fun!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! I *need* the aldo wedges...NEED.
ReplyDeleteAnd nope--no Tom's for me. :-)
Yes please. I feel the same way about the Toms. I have Toms wedge and I have to say they are super duper comfy so I only imagine that the flats are fantastic. They look like slippers to me and like crocs, nobody in my house will be allowed to wear them!
ReplyDeletehaha, loves this post. I am just a shopaholic! I am with you on the TOMS, I just think they are butt ugly but everyone seems to be wearing them. I however will not be jumping on that bandwagon there are way too many other comfortable shoes that are cuter. Oh and enjoy your birthday week!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the Aldo shoes!!! And it's my husband's birthday week too...his is on the 26th! You're birthday buddies! :)
ReplyDeleteNope, Toms do absolutely zero for me! Aubrey, if you love shoe boots/booties check out Asos.com - I spend hours just oogling over the shoe boots section... those Oxfords are to die for!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your first pick and those nine west flats. Since its your birthday week, you should treat yourself to all of them :)
ReplyDeleteLoving the Seychelles and the Nine West flats!!! So adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI'm just going to set the record straight and say that there will *never* be Toms on my tootsies....and Alena, are you *trying* to get me in trouble??? (c:
ReplyDeleteHa ha - shiny bandages - :) I'm feeling the same way about them.
ReplyDeleteThose Seychelles are calling my name... For real... So cute!
ReplyDeleteI believe we share in a shoe obsession, Aubrey!!
ReplyDeleteMy faves are the first 3! How fun is the hint of pink on those wedges!!
Thanks Aubrey. Your kind comments mean a lot to me. I love your blog and following along with all that you are doing. I can tell you are a girl after my own heart...a lover of bright pops of color.
ReplyDeleteI like the Ann Taylor oxford ones. I don't know what sexy secretay is, but I'm down with it :)
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday week girl!
I love peep toes and slingbacks too, but rarely wear heels. And as for me, I'm anti-Toms. They just don't really do it for me and I've heard they make your feet smell!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, shoes are a definite weakness of mine. I could find shoes for any occasion which is very dangerous ;) Love those wedges, they would look so fab with a cute summer dress or perfect even with jeans xx
ReplyDeleteI love all shoes but the Ann Taylor ones are def the best choice! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat first pair are to die for, so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you ^_^ Shoes and I could quite happily live in a dessert island together
xox
Ooh, I'll take the first pair. They're the hotness.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!! What a great selection of shoes - even if I may admit that I have a bit of a desire to have some Toms. :)
ReplyDeletegirl, I decided I was officially old when I snubbed the toms trend. Five years ago I would have bought those heinous "bandages" in at least two colors. But I'm proud to say I'm Tom-free and hope to remain so until the rest of the world gets over their obsession. Love your other choices though;)
